1.Brief Historical Information



-Brazil was discovered by Vicente Yañez Pinzon 

-It was colonized by the Portuguese and that is why Brazilians speak Portuguese as their native language.

-It became independent on September 7, 1822, being named the Empire of Brazil. Rio de Janeiro was named as the capital.

-In 1889 Brazil was established as a democratic republic.

-Nowadays, Brazil is the biggest economy in South America, the ninth in the world and the fifth most populous country.

-Brazil is a country known for the samba and the music, and his martial art called “capoeira”. Like every Latin country, the people there are very warm and partying.
His best-known festival is the carnival of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

2. Tourism in Brazil



Famous Places

Río de Janeiro:
Rio de Janeiro is one of the most famous places of Brazil. Rio is a city that waits for the arriving of the tourist, to show all it’s hiding places: From the beautiful natural environment of music and celebrations, to the two largest forests in the world. You can also enjoy the universal carnival in Rio, which includes parades with music and dancing. Ye can also enjoy Copacabana, located in the south of the city, is one of the world's most famous beaches. Rio de Janeiro is one of the most popular places to spend Christmas and New Year.  Its necessary and amazing go to visit Corcovado and Sugar Loaf.

Fortaleza:
Fortaleza is located in northwestern Brazil. It is a popular tourist destination where you can enjoys a warm climate all year long. The warm waters, in particular, are one of the main tourist attractions. Each beach has its own exceptional nature. For example, in Iracema people meet on weekends to party until morning, or Praia do Futuro, recommended for surfers.

Armacao dos Búzios:
This place is still one of the main meeting points of the most famous people who want to make tourism in Brazil. The famous statue of Brigitte Bardot is the most popular of this testimony. This area is a sophisticated resort wich beaches that have the best tourist facilities in the country. The nightlife in Buzios is really something wonderful.




3. The food

Typical food:
-Feijoada: made with black beans combined with salted or smoked meats. Served with cassava flour, banana chips or shredded cabbage.

-Acarajé: it consists of rolls that are left standing from the night before. It can be made of “vatapá” or cream, dried shrimp or green beans Cururú.

-Moqueca: It is prepared with fish, salt, spices and herbs that change dependinf of the region. It also can be served with chili.

-Tacacá no Tucupi: it’s a typical dish. It is a mixture of rubber powder from cassava and combined with a special sauce.

-Pato no Tucupi: prepared with a sauce of wild cassava and seasoned with an herb called “jambu”.

Some history:

In 1532, Francisco Pizarro conquered Peru, by taking  complete the entire Inca Empire. 
The invasion of France to Spain generates the independence of Peru in 1821, but 
consolidated in 1824.

2. Tourism in Perú

Famous Places:


Cusco- Machu Picchu



Its named “The Archaeological Capital of America” is the biggest tourist attraction in Peru and the most visited. Cuzco was the biggest city and capital of the Inca Empire. Today shows architecture that fuses the Inca with the Spanish style.  Their town conserves with pride its customs and traditions. A place that you should know is the mystical and enigmatic Machu Picchu, the sacred city if the Incas, because the conquistadors never knew, this city was known by occidental cultures in 1911. Cuzco and Machu Picchu, for its historical value and its beauties considered World Heritage Site. The sacred valley and its beautiful places are waiting for you.

The capital of Peru is a big metropolis; in general this is the gate to enter to the country. Also are excellent beaches on the south of Lima to do surf.

3.The food

Typical food:
In Perú the three most typical dishes are "ceviche", "lomo saltado" and "ají de gallina".



"Ceviche"
Ceviche is the food which represents Peru. It’s one of the main dishes of the country and was declared a national heritage. Its main ingredients are fillets of fish, lemon, chili, peppers, chopped onions, celery, coriander, garlic, potatoes and corn, among others that people use or like to add. 


It is ssually served with beer. There are many types to serve the ceviche, like ceviche of black’s shells, the mixed ceviche and Peruvian “tiradito” is a variation of the cut of the fish.


"Lomo Saltado"
This delicius plate is prepared with chunks of fried meat with onion and tomato.




"Ají de Gallina"
This dish is original from Lima. Originally it was made with hen but today it’s make with chicken, but if you want you can cook it with hen. Its ingredients are: hen or chicken, peppers, bread, milk,  onions, garlic, potatoes, boiled eggs, olives, salt and other taste, served with fried rice.

CHILE

"Copihue" (National Flower)

1.Brief historical information:


- It was discovered by the Portuguese Hernando de Magallanes in 1520 at the same time that he discovered the Strait of Magallanes.

- Later it was colonized by the Spanish and that is the reason why Spanish is spoken in Chile.

- It independence was in September 18, 1810 with the first national governing meeting.

- Since there, Chile has had various types of government, and one of the most political events known is the military coup in 1973. After that event Chile return to democracy.

- Since the middle of 1990, tourism has become one of the main economic resources of Chile, especially in the most extreme part of the country.


2. Tourism in Chile

Famous places:
Chile's main tourist attractions are places of natural landscapes in the extreme zones of the country (north and south).

Near the location on Putre, on the north, is really appreciable the combination of the “Chungará” lake and the  “Parinaota” volcano which is more than 4,500 meters high.



San Pedro de Atacama in the north of the country, is visited most by foreign tourists to appreciate the Inca architecture of the town, the highland lakes, the Valley of the Moon (“valle de la luna”) and the wonderful Tatio geysers (“Geisers del Tatio”).

Through the Andes there are eighteen ski centers of international quality, like “Portillo” and “Valle Nevado”.


In the south, the main tourist sites are Chiloé (“Archipiélago de Chiloé”),  the “Patagonia” (verdant area in the south) , San Rafael Lagoon (“Laguna San Rafael”) and its glaciers, and the “Torres del Paine” National Park.
